Both teams have a special mission this eighth week. Man United, now sitting second in the standings, needed a win to climb to the top of the table hoping city rivals Manchester City slipped.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are also required to reap the full points in order to keep the chances of competing in the top. Juergen Klopp’s men need three points to boost their current seventh position, eroding the seven points currently lying between them.
The current reality makes Man United more favored because the team made by Jose Mourinho is not just there in second. They also still keep the trend never lost this season.

As reported by Sky Sports, the average position of Liverpool is better than the entire English Premier League club. They have an average position of 3.44 in the standings, while Man United averaged 5.08.
Arsenal slightly better than Man United with an average position of 4.96. Meanwhile Chelsea and Man City are sixth and seventh, under Tottenham Hotspur and Everton.
